Semester 1 || B.pharm Semester 1 simplified Notes
Name of the courses in Semester I of B.pharm:-
2. Pharmaceutical Analysis I –Theory- BP102T
Semester I B.pharm Notes:-
1.HUMAN ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY-I:
Each and every pharmaceutical product in the market got it's own mechanism in the body. That mechanism decides the potency, side effects of any drug. So understanding body mechanism is crucial to design any pharmaceutical formulation with high potency and low adverse effects.
Human Anatomy:- Explains about the exact location and their structural role in the body. (Organs location, structure etc)
Human Physiology:- Explains about the role of each organ in the body in details. (Tissue, enzymes and role of each organs etc)
Human Anatomy & Physiology:- Together gives a connection between the location of the organ and how they play a key role in maintaining Homeostasis in the body.
According to PCI, "Human Anatomy & Physiology is designed to impart fundamental knowledge on the structure and functions of the various systems of the human body. It also helps in understanding both homeostatic mechanisms. The subject provides the basic knowledge required to understand the various disciplines of pharmacy".
Study Tips:- It is more like revision of Biology from your lower classes. Staying active in the class is more than enough to understand what they are trying to teach. Since it forms major basics for higher semester courses, It is better to learn it properly. Don't miss any chapter. Stick the Human body anatomy posters in the walls or books to revise everyday. Watch animation videos in YouTube to understand and remember easily.

2. PHARMACEUTICAL ANALYSIS- I:
Like I already mentioned in the B.pharm Introduction, Bachelor of Pharmacy is more of Chemistry Course. So it includes lot of chemistry subjects to make students understand the depth of the drug molecules utilized in Medicines such as Pharmaceutical Analysis, Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry etc.
Pharmaceutical Analysis in 1st Semester of B.Pharm deals with Identification, Assay, purification of Impurities. It explains about the process, methods and procedures involved in detection of accurate concentration of impurities in Chemicals used in pharmaceutical industries. It also utilizes lot of innovative instruments like UV visible spectroscopy, Polarography etc to detect new molecules, New mixtures in Pharmaceutical research.
According to PCI, " Pharmaceutical Analysis deals with the fundamentals of analytical chemistry and principles of electrochemical analysis of drugs".
Study Tips:- Pharmaceutical Analysis in the 1st semester forms basis for future chemistry related practical courses. Learn this subject in more practical manner. Understand the different procedures, methods used in practical chemistry. This pharmaceutical Chemistry knowledge will help you in all chemistry practical classes, So learn the principles and procedures precisely for future reference. Watch practical videos in YouTube to understand and remember easily.

3. PHARMACEUTICS:
Pharmaceutics subject in the first semester of Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) deals with the basic requirements of formulations. It gives brief explanation about the raw materials used, definition, most commonly used terms in Pharmaceutics, different dosage forms etc. So basically it gives an idea about different existing formulations in pharmaceutical field and how are they formulated?
Pharmaceutics is more than a subject, It is a department which contains lot of relative subjects in it to help students understand the process involved in the manufacturing of Pharmaceutical dosage forms. This department helps students understand how any pharmaceutical formulation made from nothing and it also explains the terms, guidelines and the process involved in it.
Study Tips:- Like already mentioned, this subject contains basic knowledge about all the existing pharmaceutical products. To understand new innovative methods or different innovative pharmaceutical products coming to the market, the student should have the knowledge about already existing pharmaceutical products. So learn each and every formulation carefully. Explore the products directly from the pharmacy shops, It will help to remember about that products for quite long period of times.
4.PHARMACEUTICAL INORGANIC CHEMISTRY:
Inorganic chemistry explains about the chemical molecules which lack carbon-hydrogen bonds and most of them are not organic in nature. We utilize these inorganic chemical molecules in pharmaceuticals for many purposes. So it is important to know in detail to utilizes them effectively in pharmaceutical chemistry field. To make that process easy, this Pharmaceutical Inorganic Chemistry subject is designed in such a way, it helps students to learn more about the role of Inorganic Chemical molecules in Pharmaceutical field in detail.
According to PCI," Pharmaceutical Inorganic Chemistry deals with the monographs of inorganic drugs and pharmaceuticals".
